Trunk & Tent is for people who camp out of their car: no RV, no fancy rig, just a trunk full of gear and a good spot to park for the night.
We started this site because most “best gear” lists are written for backpackers with big budgets. Car campers have different problems. You have room to haul a little more, but you still want gear that’s cheap, packs flat, and keeps you warm, safe and rested.
Here you’ll find buying guides, budget gear picks, setup ideas and safety tips for sleeping in or next to your car.
How we make money
Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you buy through one, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. That’s how the site pays for itself. It never changes what we recommend, and we tell you when a link is an affiliate link.
